If you’re looking for a last minute craft to do with the kiddos this July 4th, look no further! These Popsicle Stick American flags are fun and easy to make, and the best part is that they only require a few supplies. So grab some popsicle sticks, some red, white, and blue paint, and get to crafting!
The Fourth of July is going to be quite different this year. The fireworks were canceled in our neck of the woods, and for some reason missing the July 4th events are upsetting me more than I imagined. Well they weren’t actually canceled, they are having a virtual celebration. But c’mon, fireworks are just not something that can be enjoyed virtually.
So, I made up for the lack of Patriotic celebrations with tons of Red, White, and Blue crafting this year! We made 2 different kinds of Patriotic Clothespin Wreaths, American Flag Toilet Paper Roll Windsocks, Egg Carton American Flags, and now these cute little Popsicle Stick American Flags. It looks like Uncle Sam threw up in our house! (And I think I’m forgetting some others).
This Popsicle Sick American Flag would be super cute to wave around at a July 4th BBQ celebration, but since were staying home, we stuck them inside our plants to serve as Patriotic Planters.
We used silver iridescent little stars because we had them in our trusty scrapbook box, but you could just as easily paint white stars on instead, or cut out little white stars on paper if you don’y happen to have any stickers. Either way the kiddos will jut love putting the red, white, and blue craft flags together to show their American Pride!

How to make an American Flag Popsicle Stick
Follow the below simple steps to make a Popsicle Stick American Flag for this 4th if July.
Use a pen to section off the the left portion of the 4 popsicle sticks that will be painted blue
Paint the Popsicle sticks red, white, and blue like the below picture
Line them up in the orientation of the flag and glue a popsicle stick to the back on the left side
After you line them up, flip them over and glue the popsicle stick to the right side. There should be just a tad left of the stick hanging off of the bottom where we will glue the handle. Then, when you flip it to the right side, the popsicle stick will be in the left.
Add some star stickers to the blue section of the flag, or paint some white stars
Glue another popsicle stick to the bottom end of the one securing the flag together
That’s it! You can bring your Popsicle Stick American flag to wave proudly at your 4th of July BBQ celebration, or you can use them as Patriotic Planters. These American Flag craft sticks are so quick and easy to put together, you can make a bunch and get creative with them!
