Ho Ho Ho, Merry black, red, and white Christmas! This handmade rustic tiered tray is packed with all the traditional Christmas decor like Santas, Snowmen, Presents, and Reindeer. If this 3 Tiered Tray doesn’t get you all the warm fuzzy Christmas vibes, I don’t know what will!
Last summer I made a vow to decorate my Fall Rustic Tiered Tray with 100% handmade crafts and DIY’s. So, after I made the tray itself, I set out on a mission to do just that. After Fall was completed, I felt like I had to defend my title and hand make everything for Christmas too!
So here we are, over a month worth of crafting with several glue gun burns to prove it, and we have a gorgeous Rustic Christmas Tiered Tray in a Black, White, and Red color theme. Alllllllll handmade! (With the exception of some of the filler pieces)
I used to decorate in the super traditional Red and Green for Christmas, but last year I decided I didn’t like green, so I was going to stop using it. And that I did! Instead, I am drawn to the Red, Black, and White so thats what I have been sticking with ever since.
If you’re following along on Facebook, you probably saw me make many of the pieces you see here live. If it’s handmade and on this tiered tray, then there is a tutorial for it. The only things I did NOT make are some of the little filler Christmas Trees, Gnomes, and the mini mugs from Hobby Lobby because they were just too cute not to add.

Handmade Crafts for a Christmas Tiered Tray
I decorated this beautiful Rustic Handmade Christmas 3 Tiered Tray on a Facebook Live video, so you can WATCH me decorate it HERE or click on the picture right below.
I have no rhyme or reason to how I decorate my Christmas Handmade Tiered Tray. I know there are some decorating “rules” you are supposed to follow, but honestly I’ve never been one to follow those rules! I’m a #CraftyRebel.
First things first, you need to start with clean slate and take EVERYTHING off of your tray. Then I get out everything that I plan to use, so that I have it all right there in front of me.
Then, I just start putting things on and moving them around until I like how it looks. It takes a bit of tweaking and tinkering until you get it just right, but in the end you are left with something uh-maz-ing. One trick I have is to use little round wood discs to use as risers to create some height on things in the back. It makes a world of difference
Let’s start from the Top! The only crafts that I don’t have a public full tutorial for are the adorable Wood Block Santa and Rudolph on the top shelf. These were made in my private subscription group, The CRafterparty, and you can read all about that and even join here.
I wanted those to be the main focus for the top, so its really just them and then I filled it up with a cute little wood “merry & bright” tag that was gifted to me by one of my crafty FB friends, the Hobby Lobby mini mug that I use year round on here, and some mini bulb and gnome ornaments.
The adorable little “Thankful for you” mini mug was a last year Hobby Lobby find, isn’t it so stinkin’ cute! I did end up switching out the orange pumpkin in the mug for a teal one, so that there was a pop of color on the top level to balance it out with the rest.
Moving down to the second Tier! In the back we have the super cute and simple Wood Block Presents. These were made with the extra wood blocks that came in the pack I bought for the Santa and Rudolph above. I added some heigh to one of them with the round wood discs that I mentioned I like to use earlier. I threw in a bottle brush tree to fill the back as well.
Front and center is an easy to make “Merry Christmas” block, a couple Jenga Block Snowmen as fillers, and the star of the second tier which is draped around the other items, is the Snowmen Wood Bead Garland!
On the right we have yet another handmade piece, the “Merry” Buffalo Check Sitter, which could be made to match any decor. And I finished this tier off with another Hobby Lobby mini mug and some filler stuffed Christmas Trees from the ornament section at Walmart.
It’s coming along nicely! Let’s move on down to the bottom and final tier. This one is chuck full with cuteness!
Towards the back we have 2 handmade pieces that you can’t really see all that much, especially the Christmas Tree with mini rag garland on the far back right. To the left of that is a “Snow Place Like Home” Napkin Shelf Sitter that looks just perfect there.
On the front left is the Dollar Tree Mini Sled with Reindeer and front and center is the cute “Merry” Dollar Tree Mini Pallet, with the Mini Dollar Tree Calendar frame directly in front of that.
The last handmade piece on this tier, on the far right, is our Mini Foam Cone Christmas Trees.
If you see any little empty spaces, use your mini bulb ornaments and other Christmas knick knacks to fill in the gaps. My motto is “Better to have too much on your tray than too little”. Some say I’m “Extra”, but I say ” Am I Extra? Or are you Basic?” (If you’re on TikTok then you know LOL).
