You haven’t seen cute and simple ’til you’ve seen these Jenga Block Snowmen!

These teeny little snowmen make the perfect filler crafts for those small spots on your tiered tray where you just need a little somethin’ somethin’ but you can’t fit a whole piece of decor.

You can either display a few of them together, or you can break them up for those small spots, but either way you do it they are sure to be CUTE!

You could also make these into DIY Christmas ornaments by adding a piece of string or twine to the top. Make a few of each, tiered tray AND ornaments. Why not!?

These cutie pie Jenga Black Snowmen are so easy to make, you can whip up a dozen of them in no time.

All you do is paint the Jenga Blocks all white, draw on the faces and buttons with a Sharpie or paint pen, and then decorate them how you choose.

I made fabric and twine scarves, “ear muffs” from pipe cleaners and pom poms, and a black hat. To make the hat I just used a small piece of a popsicle stick to divide his face from the hat, and painted the top all black.

How darn cute do these look with that “Merry” Sign we made in the background?!

“Wrap” up your DIY Halloween decor this year with this adorable, fun and easy to make Foam Cone Mummy girl! This cute little craft is easy enough for the kids to make, and fun enough for the adults too!

What kind of music do Mummies listen to?

Wrap music! LOL Sorry I couldn’t help myself!

If you’re looking for something quick, easy, and cheap to make this Halloween then you’ve come to the right place. This Foam Cone Mummy fits the bill!

I am not the biggest Halloween crafter. I mean, I like Halloween, but it’s not my absolute favorite holiday to craft for. So when I DO craft for it, I love to make Rainbow Halloween pieces like this Dollar Tree Rainbow Skeleton you see below, or to make super cutesy ones like this little Tiered Tray Ghost decor.

This Foam Cone Mummy definitely falls into the “cutesy” category, and I couldn’t love it any more.

Supplies Needed to Make a Foam Cone Mummy for Halloween

• Foam Cone
• White velvety (chunky) yarn
• Jumbo googly eyes
• Various black and white ribbon and bakers twine
• Hot glue gun

How to Make a Mummy with a Foam Cone

I made this adorable Foam one Mummy on video, so you can WATCH it or click on the picture right below.

Are you ready for these super complicated and hard to follow directions? LOL

Wrap your foam cone from top to bottom with white yarn. Start by putting a dab of hot glue at the top to secure the end, and then just wrap wrap wrap that Mummy.

Glue on the googly eyes towards the top. I took them and kind of partially tucked them under the yarn so it looks like she is peeking out from behind her wraps.

Make a super easy mini messy bow by crisscrossing pieces of black and white ribbon in an X formation and then tying a piece of string around the center. The messier and wonkier the bow the better!

How cute is this little Mummy girl!? I think she needs a Boyfriend to go along with her, what do you think?

The kids will just love to turn an ordinary pine cone into a Holly Jolly Santa Cone! These easy nature crafts are fun to make year round, but turn it into a Old St. Nick and it makes the perfect Christmas crafts for kids

The kiddos just loved making this adorable Pine Cone Santa Claus, but I must caution you. If you’re collecting pine cones straight from mother nature, make sure to clean and prepare them first before crafting! We get ours from a local park and they come filled with dirt and debris and BUGS, so it’s important to bake those bugs out so you don’t end up with spiders in your pine cone crafts, eeeeek! If you don’t live in an area that has pine cones in nature, you can always buy them on Amazon or even Etsy.

Supplies needed to make a Pine Cone Santa Claus Kids Craft

• Pine cones (cleaned and prepared or store bought)
• Red Paint
• Stiff craft felt (black and red)
• Red and gold glitter paper (you could use felt or cardstock if you have it)
• Cotton balls
• Googly eyes
• White Styrofoam ball
• White craft pom pom (small)
• Glue (we used a kids glue gun that we LOVE and highly recommend)

How to Turn a Pine Cone into Santa Claus for Christmas

Clean and prepare the pine cones for crafting.

If you bought your pine cones instead of collecting them outside, you can skip this step. Otherwise, make sure to thoroughly clean them and to be safe, bake the bugs out.

If you bought your pine cones rather than collecting them from nature you can skip this step. Otherwise, make sure you thoroughly clean them to get rid of all of the dirt and debris, and bake the bugs out.

Paint the Pine Cone Red

Make the Pine Cone Santa’s Belt

1. Cut a strip of of black felt about 1 inch wide, and long enough to wrap entirely around the fattest part of the Pine Cone.
2. Cut a square out of the gold glitter paper (or yellow felt or whatever you are using as the belt buckle).
3. Fold the square in half and cut a small square out of the center to form the belt buckle.
4. Glue the gold buckle to the center of black felt strip and glue the belt around the fattest part of the Pine Cone Santa’s belly.

Make the Pine Cone Santas Face and Head

1. Paint the styrofoam ball a pink/peach color and glue it to the top of the red painted pine cone body.
2. Rip and fluff a cotton ball and glue it to the Styrofoam ball as Santa’s beard.
3. Glue a red pom pom nose.
4. Glue on the googly eyes.

Make the Santa Hat

1. Roll a square of red glitter paper into a cone, and cut the bottom overhang off.
2. Glue a white pom pom to the tip of the cone, and glue on top of the Styrofoam ball.

You have yourself an adorable Pine Cone Christmas craft to add to the rest of your Pine Cone Village!

This Pine Cone Santa was the perfect way to end our Pine Cone Countdown to Christmas! I hope you and your kiddos have as much fun turning natures crafts supplies into an adorable Santa’s Village as we did. How cute does he look with Rudolph the Red-Nosed Pine Cone?

My Twins just had their Birthday and we did a 10th Birthday Hawaiian Luau to celebrate. Being the crafty girl I am, I DIY’d many of the decorations, including this Pineapple Piñata, but there are just certain things I’d prefer to buy and not make.

While scouring the web for Luau and Pineapple themed favors I came across these Pineapple Lollipops on Etsy, that were pretty darn cute, but the problem?! They’re $29.99 for just TWELVE lollipops! That’s literally insane.

So of course I decided to DIY these too! My version will run you a whopping $7, and the best part? You get 16 Pineapple Lollipops instead of 12! It all starts with these simple generic round swirl lollipops.

• 2″ Circular punch (not required but makes this SO much easier and neater)

Follow the below super easy steps to make DIY Pineapple Lollipops for your next Hawaiian Luau.

How easy and adorbs are these? You can even get the kiddos to help out with this one. In about 30 minutes, you can whip up the whole batch of 16 of these. I stuck them right back into the plastic container they came in, and slapped an extra one of the personalized Luau water bottle labels that I bought around the center!

The DIY Pineapple Lollipops were the perfect compliment to the other Luau party favors and the kiddos just loved the personalized Mini Sanitizer and Chapsticks!

If you’re planning a Hawaiian Luau Party, or even a Pineapple themed birthday party, than a DIY Pineapple Piñata is an absolute must. The only problem is that Piñatas can be super expensive and if you’re like me, you’re on a budget. So instead of buying your Piñata for next party, I’ll show you how to make a DIY one for virtually free, all you need is a few supplies and a little time!

I am known for DIY’ing the heck out of my Twins birthday parties but it wasn’t until recent years that I began DIY’ing the Pinatas too!. First it was the Pinata for their 8th YouTube birthday party. The YouTube logo is fairly simple, a square, so I gave it a go and it was a huge success! I decided to take it a step further last year and challenge myself to their 9th Super Sonic the Hedgehog birthday piñata.

From the looks of it, you’d think a piñata is super complicated to make right? It’s not! It is actually pretty easy, but it does take a good bit of time. But for the going rate of $50+ for a (small) piñata, I’ll spend the few hours to make one. Especially because the supplies needed to make it cost, drum roll please……$2! So when you do buy one, you’re definitely paying for the time, not supplies.

This DIY Pineapple Piñata actually would have been free, because I already had the cardboard, glue, crepe paper, and card stock, but I didn’t have the darn masking tape, so to Walmart I went.

If you’re planning a Hawaiian Luau party, or simply a Summer Pineapple party, than this Cool-dude Pineapple Piñata will surely be a hit with all the kiddos. Not to mention it’ll be a hit with your bank account too. If you’re down to DIY some other things for your Hawaiian Pineapple Luau to save a buck or two, this Pineapple Lollipop hack (*coming soon) is an easy and good one too!

Supplies Needed to Make a DIY Pineapple Piñata

1. Large cardboard box
2. Masking tape
3. Yellow Crepe paper streamers
4. Glue stick
5. Green glitter foam paper
6. Black poster board or cardstock (Optional for mouth and sunglasses)
7. Umbrella pic (Optional)
8. Habiscus flower (Optional)
9. Box cutter

How to make a Pineapple Piñata for your Birthday or Hawaiian Luau Party

Follow the below easy steps to DIY your very own Pineapple piñata with Sunglasses and save a ton money in the process.

Draw the outline of the front of the Pineapple onto the cardboard and cut it out using a box cutter.

Just do your best here. It doesn’t have to be a perfect Pineapple shape. Once you get it all decorated, you won’t even be able to tell!

Draw the outline of the Pineapple Crown onto cardboard, and cut out using a box cutter.

Be so super careful here, please! Those suckers are sharp!

Trace the outline of the Pineapple you just cut out onto another piece of cardboard and cut that out

It’s super important to trace the first one you cut out and not freehand a second one, otherwise your Pineapple will be uneven making it really hard to tape together into a 3D shape.

Cut a 5″-6″ wide strip of cardboard for the middle of the Pineapple piñata

It’s ok if you don’t cut this in all one long strip, you can do it in smaller sections if you don’t have cardboard large enough. Just cut out as long as a piece as you can, and as you go around the outline taping it, you may need to cut more to finish it up.

Corrugated cardboard works best for this since it’s bendy, but if you don’t have it you can bend, fold, and mold the cardboard to get it how you need it. Basically wear it down so that it’s super floppy and malleable, making it easier to work with in the next step.

Begin to shape the long, bendy cardboard piece around the outline of the Pineapple, securing with masking tape every 1-2 inches.

Place the backside of the Pineapple outline on top and secure with masking tape every 1-2 inches

It should be starting to look like a 3D Pineapple shape, like this!

Cut a small flap/opening for candy in the top of the middle cardboard piece, and poke 2 holes for string to hang

Cut a whole bunch of strips of yellow crepe paper streamers, some long enough to cover the front/back, and some shorter to cover the sides

Roughly measure out a bunch of strips that are longer then the length of the pinata, and cut fringes along the edges. Don’t worry about the length being exact, we’ll trim that all up later.

Use scissors to cut fringe all along each strip of crepe paper

Alternatively, you could cut the fringes after gluing them to the cardboard. I did one side each way, and I didn’t find one way to be easier than the other.

Glue the strips of yellow crepe paper across the front of the Pineapple, starting from the bottom and working your way up, overlapping them just a bit.

I found the best way to do this was to cover 6 inches of the cardboard with the glue, and then spread the crepe paper across leaving extra overhang. Don’t worry about the overhang, you will go around and trim it off nice and neat after. So just glue, and paper and cut, repeat. This does take a bit of time. You could also cut the fringe on the crepe paper after gluing it to the cardboard, but either way works!

Keep going….don’t worry about the overhang, were about to cut that off.

Trim the extra yellow crepe paper overhang from around the Pineapple outline

Repeat the same process for the back and the sides of the Pineapple Piñata

Use the cardboard Pineapple crown to trace onto the glitter foam paper, and glue to the top of the Pineapple

Cut out the green paper and glue to the front of the cardboard crown. Stick a few tooth picks into the bottom of the Pineapple Crown, and then stick them into the top of the Piñata, along with some hot glue to hold the crown in place.

Decorate the Piñata with Sunglasses and mouth

Draw the sunglasses and mouth onto black cardstock and cut them out. Use hot glue to attach to the front of the Piñata. Don’t let the word “draw” intimidate you! I have zero artistic drawing ability and I was able to pull this together. It doesn’t have to be perfect, look how crooked my sunglasses are….who cares!

If you want to be Extra like me, go ahead and add an umbrella pic and a flower to his crown.

You’re ready to fill that bad boy up with candy! Our favorite is the Mexican candy with Tamarindo and chamoy, YUM! If you don’t have a place to get that kind near you, trusty Amazon always has the huge candy bags. And don’t forget your Pinata blindfold and bat!

This DIY Pineapple Piñata is huge. Like, way too big. So don’t feel pressured to fill it allllll the way to the top or the top might break when you hang it, the string could pull right through the cardboard if it’s too heavy. Trust me, it’s happened! My twins always love filling this bad boy up!

Although this specific Piñata is made for a Hawaiian Luau party, the same concept can be applied to whatever theme you choose! Of course the shapes and colors and decorations will be different, but as long as the idea isn’t too complex it would be just as easy to make! We made a Sonic the Hedgehog Piñata last year that turned out great.

Summer is fast approaching so it’s time to break out the Sunglasses, bathing suits, and flip-flops! It wouldn’t be Summer without decorating for the occasion, and that’s exactly where these Summer Paint Swatch Popsicles come in! So if you’re looking for a summer DIY that’s fun, colorful, easy, and almost FREE, than look no further my friend, this Dollar Tree DIY has got it all!

Before you go and get your panties in a twist, the paint sample cards are free. I did not go in and wipe out Walmart and take hundreds of Paint Chips in an effort to make these Paint Swatch Popsicles. No Walmart paint departments were harmed in the making of this adorable Summer DIY. I posted this project in a Facebook group and you would not believe the offense some people took! I was downright called a thief in one group and here’s what I have to say about that….If you don’t like it, don’t make these! *Disclaimer over

Onto the fun! This fun and colorful DIY was my project for the Southern Crush Summer Craftathon and it was a total hit! It’s no secret that I’m obsessed with *all the colors*, so of course I have to make the paint sample popsicles Rainbow. Doesn’t it look so bright and cheery alongside that Scrap Fabric Flower!? Total #SummerVibes up in here!

You could also make this same concept with Red, White, and Blue popsicles for 4th of July, or you could make the paint swatches into a cute Summer Popsicle banner for your mantel. The paint chip possibilities are endless! Make sure to check out the Ombre Easter Egg Garland we made earlier this year, its just one example of what these little paint cards can be!

Supplies Needed to make Summer Popsicles with Paint Sample Cards

• Paint Sample cards – FREE at any Walmart, Home Depot, Lowes etc. (It’s totally fine to take a few, just don’t go and wipe them out!)
• Popsicle sticks – 3 cut in half to make 6
• Dollar Tree Charger Plate – or any surface you choose will work
• Galvanized metal letters to spell SUMMER – I got mine at Dollar Tree but you could use Wooden Letters as well
• White school glue
• White chalk paint
• Rainbow Pom Pom trim
• Hot glue
• Popsicle template (optional)

How to Make Summer Paint Chip Popsicles

I made this adorable Paint Sample Summer Popsicle craft on video for the Southern Crush Summer Craftathon, so you can WATCH the step by step tutorial HERE or right below.

Let’s make some Popsicles!

First, you start with some sort of surface. I used a Dollar Tree charger plate which is a plastic material, but any surface, wood or otherwise, will do. We are gonna do the Crackle Paint technique on this one, but you can totally skip this part and just paint it. Or you can skip the paint altogether if you like the color of the tray already. Here’s what it would have looked like right on the Silver, I almost decided not to paint it, but I went for it in the end!

The crackle paint, AKA “magic”, is super easy to do. You simply cover the surface with a decent layer of white glue, and then while the glue is still wet, paint one coat of white paint on top. e careful not to work the paint into the glue, just glide the paint right over the top, and don’t worry about it being perfect. Then dry it with a heat gun or blow dryer and watch the magic happen! I have a detailed step by step tutorial/video on exactly how to do the Crackle Paint Finish in case you want to check that out.

Next you just cut the Popsicle shape out of the paint sample cards. I decided to do one of each color rainbow (of course). You can freehand this, or you can do what I did and Google “Popsicle Template” and print one out.

Cut 3 popsicle sticks in half so that you have 6 pieces, and glue those bad boys to your charger plate. Then glue the paint sample popsicle cards on top!

Glue your letters on top, one on each popsicle! I decided to go with the galvanized metal letters, but I did paint some wooden letters white first, to see how I liked them, so you could go that route as well.

The finishing touch for these adorable Paint Swatch Popsicles is the rainbow pom pom trim glued across the top. This part is completely optional but I think it totally seals the deal and send this into cuteness overload!

However you decide to make yours, painted crackle paint or not. Galvanized metal letters or wooden. Rainbow pom pom’s or no pom pom’s. It’s sure to come out fantabulous! Here it is all put together! How cute does it look with the colorful Scrap Fabric Flower?

You could take this same idea, and make it into a fun and colorful summer popsicle banner to string across your mantel! Or you could make an Ombre Easter Egg banner like we did earlier this year. Add some fun and colorful decor to your Easter Holiday this year with this super easy Easter Egg Rainbow Ombre garland made with none other than paint swatches. If you’ve got some free paint samples on hand, you can make this fun and colorful Easter DIY in 15 minutes or less, and for FREE!

If you disagree with taking a whole bunch of colored paint swatches from your local Home Depot or Walmart, than you’re gonna want to exit stage right because we’re ’bout to get crafty up in here with a whole heck of a lot of those cute and colorful samples!

Honestly, they’re free, it’s totally not stealing and I don’t go up to the paint section and grab 300 samples. No, you grab a few of each color swatch here and there every time you go, so that you’re collecting them over a span of time, duh! There are so many fun crafts you can make with these, so if you haven’t already, head to Walmart and grab you some so you can make this Rainbow Ombre Easter Egg Garland. Here’s the type of paint samples that I’ve been collecting from Walmart.

This Rainbow Ombre Easter Egg Garland is easy enough for the kiddos to make, and who cares if they mess up a few of the free swatches, you can always repurpose them for another kids craft. Print a free Easter Egg template from good ‘ole Google, have the littles trace it onto the swatches and help to cut them out. It’s a perfect family craft to do this Easter, and it looks so adorable with the Rainbow Bunny sign we made last week too!

This DIY was one of the easiest that I’ve done and I’ve got a video tutorial that you can watch right HERE to make one for your home this Easter. Or you can watch it below. This was so easy, you could make it in about 15 minutes!

Supplies needed to make an Easter Egg Garland with Paint Swatches

• Colored paint swatches (free) – I got mine from Walmart but they have them at Home Depot and other home goods stores as well
• Twine or String
• Easter Egg Template (optional, you could totally free hand it too)

How to make a Rainbow Ombre Easter Egg Garland with Paint Swatches

1. Choose the shades of colors of paint swatches you want to use for your Easter Egg Garland
2. Trace the Easter Egg template (or freehand) onto the back of the paint swatch, so that the line separating colors is in the middle of the egg
3. Cut the Easter Eggs out of the Paint Swatches
4. Use a hole punch to cut a hole in the top of each colored Easter Egg
5. String them onto a piece of Twine or String
6. Hang up and Enjoy!

The Grinch Who Stole Christmas is an infamous figure come the Holiday season, but have you seen the Pine Cone Who Stole Christmas? This nature inspired “Grinch Hand” is a fast, fun, and easy craft for the kiddos and the grown ups alike!

We have officially made it to the second to last day of our first ever Pine Cone Countdown to Christmas *cue air claps*!!! Today, we bring you the Pine Cone Who Stole Christmas. And let me tell ya, he was a hit over on the Gram!

This Pine Cone Santa Village has been SO much fun to create, I’m kind of sad there’s only one day left in the countdown. Santa Cone is the last on our list so make sure to check back Christmas Day when the Jolly ole man makes his debut.

Pine Cones are SO much fun to craft with, especially around the Holidays (although we use them year round ’round here!). Just remember, if you’re crafting with pine cones you collected yourself from outdoors, make sure to thoroughly clean and prepare them first. That is, unless you’d like to host a sleepover for a family of Daddy Long Legs! We get ours from a local park and they come filled with dirt and debris and BUGS, so it’s important to bake those bugs out so you don’t end up with spiders in your pine cone crafts, eeeeek! If you don’t live in an area that has pine cones in nature, you can always buy them on Amazon or even Etsy.

Supplies needed to make a Pine Cone Grinch Hand Craft

• Pine cones (cleaned and prepared or store bought)
• Green Paint
• Stiff craft felt – Red
• Red Ribbon
• Red Craft pom pom
• Green tinsel pipe cleaners
• Glue (we used a kids glue gun that we LOVE and highly recommend)

How to Turn a Pine Cone into the Grinch Who Stole Christmas

Clean and prepare the pine cones for crafting

If you bought your pine cones rather than collecting them from nature you can skip this step. Otherwise, make sure you thoroughly clean them to get rid of all of the dirt and debris, and bake the bugs out.

Paint the pine cone green to make the Grinch’s’ body

Allow the paint to dry fully. By the time you complete the next 2 steps, it should be good to go.

Make the Grinch heart

Trace the heart shape onto red felt, and cut it out. You can easily do this freehand by folding the piece of red felt in half and drawing the half heart shape on the edge and then cutting that out so its symmetrical.

Make the Pipe Cleaner Grinch Hand

I don’t have a specific step-by-step for this other than twist and shape a pipe cleaner into the shape of the famous “Grinch Hand”. Ours took 2 pipe cleaners to make. The first one made his hand with the 3 “fingers”, and the second one formed his “arm”.

Next, cut a small piece of red ribbon, and glue a small red craft pom pom to the end of the it to make the bulb ornament.

Glue the end of the ribbon between the Grinch fingers so it looks as if he is holding the end.

Put the finishing touches on the Pine Cone Grinch

Glue the green pipe cleaner to the top of the painted pine cone. Tie a small red shoelace bow, and glue that over the top as well.

The Pine Cone Who Stole Christmas was a total hit in our Pine Cone Countdown to Christmas, but I’m not sure which one has been my favorite so far. It wouldn’t be Christmas without a good ‘ole Gingerbread Man craft and what better way to make one than with natures craft supply. This Pine Cone Gingerbread man is super easy for kids to make, and fun for the grown ups too. So grab a pine cone, some cardstock, and some google to make this adorable GingerPine man!

Day 4 in the Pine Cone Countdown to Christmas is the Pine Cone Gingerbread man, a.k.a……the Gingerpine Man! No Christmas craft village is complete with at least one of these fabulous scented cuties. Now that I think of it, if I had made this little guy scented he would have been way cooler than he is now. Oh well, there’s always next year.

Pine cones are one of our favorite things to craft with, but I must caution you. If you’re collecting pine cones straight from mother nature, make sure to clean and prepare them first before crafting! Supplies needed to make a Pine Cone Gingerbread Man Craft

• Pine cones (cleaned and prepared or store bought)
• Brown paint
• Stiff craft felt or Brown Cardstock
• Red Glitter Vinyl (you could also use red felt or paper for the zig zags)
• Red Ribbon
• Black marker
• Googly eyes
• Half Pearl Buttons or beads
• Glue (we used a kids glue gun that we LOVE and highly recommend)

How to Turn a Pine Cone into a Gingerbread Man for Christmas

Follow the below easy steps to make a cute Gingerpine Man with the kiddos this Christmas!

Clean and prepare the pine cones for crafting.

If you bought your pine cones rather than collecting them from nature you can skip this step. Otherwise, make sure you thoroughly clean them to get rid of all of the dirt and debris, and bake the bugs out.

Paint the pine cone brown to make the Gingerbread Mans body

Cut out the Gingerbread Mans parts

Since the shape of his arms and legs are so simple, you can freehand draw the outline onto the brown cardstock, First draw one arm and one leg shape, and then cut them out. Using those as templates, trace them onto the cardstock to make the matching pair.

For his head, it’s easiest to find something circular that’s small enough to trace. Place it on the cardstock with about 1/4 of the circle hanging off the edge so that when cut out, the bottom of the circle is flat instead of completely round.

Make the Red “frosting” decoration

Trace the zig zag shape onto the red glitter paper and cut that out. You’ll need 4 total, 2 each for his arms and legs. Alternatively, you could use a red glitter pen or marker to draw it on, which would actually be easier, but I didn’t have one on hand.

Glue the red zig zags to the end of Pine Cone Gingerbread Mans arms and legs.

Trace a red half circle shape onto the glitter paper for his mouth/smile. Cut it out and glue to the Gingerbread Mans head along with the googly eyes.

Put the Pine Cone Gingerbread Man Together

Glue on the arms, legs and head. Glue 3 half pearl buttons to the front of the pine cone body.

For the finishing touch, tie a small shoelace bow with red ribbon and glue just under his head.

This Pine Cone Gingerbread Man was the perfect addition to our Pine Cone Christmas Village! This nature inspired Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer craft is easy enough for kids to make, and fun for the grown ups to. But the best part is that you only need a few supplies. Grab a pine cone, some paint, felt, and pipe cleaners and get to crafting your Pine Cone Reindeer!

Just when I thought there were no more Pine Cone Crafts to be made, I realized I didn’t have a Christmas Collection! So to pass the time until the Big Day, we’re doing a Pine Cone Countdown to Christmas!

Supplies Needed to Make a Pine Cone Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer

• Pine cone – Cleaned and prepared or store bought
• Brown paint (optional- I mean the pine cone IS brown!)
• Googly eyes
• Gold pipe cleaners
• Red glitter craft pom pom
• Tan/brown cardstock and/or felt
• Red ribbon (we used velour)
• Gold or silver bell

How to Turn a Pine Cone into Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer

Follow the below easy steps to Make Rudolph the Red Nosed Pine Cone!

Clean and prepare the pine cones for crafting.

If you have store bought pine cones rather than ones you collected from nature, you may skip this step. Other wise, you can read the full instructions on how I clean them and bake the bugs out.

Paint the Pine Cone Brown

This step is entirely optional since the pine cone is already brown. I painted it just to give it a bit of a more finished look.

Make the Pine Cone Reindeers Face

Cut the figure 8 shaped head out of Tan cardstock. You could also use construction paper or felt, whatever you have on hand!

Next, cut an oval snout, and 2 oval ears that come to a point like the picture above.

Glue the ears behind the Reindeers head, and the snout to the front of his face. Finally glue on his googly eyes, and a red craft pom pom as Rudolph’s nose.

Make Rudolph’s Antlers

Take a pipe cleaner and cut it into thirds. The first 2 pieces will be the base of each antler, so cut the 3rd piece into several even smaller pieces. Glue each little piece to the longer ones to create an antler shape.

Make Rudolph’s Collar

Cut a piece of red ribbon long enough to wrap around the pine cone. Slide a jingle bell onto the ribbon in the center like the pic below.

Glue the Pine Cone Reindeer Together

Lay the pine cone on it’s side with the top facing you (the smaller part). Glue Rudolph’s head onto the front, and the antlers behind his head. Wrap the red ribbon collar around his “neck” and glue onto place in the back.

How adorable is this Pine Cone Reindeer!?
