There’s nothing more fun, funky, and creative than a vintage thrift store gumball machine repainted and decorated for Christmas! With red, black, white, and silver ornaments inside, and a bow on top, this Christmas gumball machine makeover will have you saying Ho Ho Ho all the way through New Years!
I love anything that is fun and different. Some may call me a crafty rebel!
So as soon as I saw this Vintage gumball machine at a local thrift store, good ‘ole Quality Thrift, I just knew it was coming home with me!
This bad boy wasn’t white like this when I got though. I gave it whole makeover before it made it to the Christmas decorating phase. Make sure to check out the transformation to see how I took this thrift store flip from Drab to Fab!
I actually had a little Snowman wood bead garland ornament hanging from the coin turn thingy, but I believe these pics were taken before I added that cuteness. I’ll snap some better pics this upcoming Christmas, I swear!

How to Decorate a Gumball Machine for Christmas
The possible ways to decorate your Vintage Gumball Machine are endless but I decided to keep it simple!
I can’t wait until we move into a bigger house so that I have more room and opportunity to decorate and get fun inspirational pics for you guys! But until then, these will have to do. Just imagine it in a big beautifully decorated entryway with lights everywhere!
We did a Messy Bow workshop in my private subscription group, The CRafterparty, just before Christmas so I had this amazing big ‘ole messy bow just waiting for a home, I set it on top of the vintage gumball machine just temporarily because I didn’t have anything to do with it, and I loved it so much I kept it there (for a little while)!
Isn’t it the perfect place for it?
If you don’t prefer the messy bow, you could add a Santa hat on top, like I did here. Which way do you like better? I can’t decide! Which is why my Vintage Gumball Machine did a wardrobe change halfway through the season, LOL!
Here’s a pic with the little Snowman Wood Bead Garland hanging from the coin turny thingy, I just knew I had a pic somewhere!
I can’t wait to decorate it again this Christmas. It really adds some flair to your Christmas decor and it’s definitely a statement piece that will leave visitors asking “Where’d you get that!?”
