This fun and colorful DIY brings 2 of my very favorite things together into one, the Dollar Tree and Rainbow color! This super easy Easter sign is made from items that weren’t meant for crafting, making this piece of decor even more fun! So if you’re at your Dollar Tree, make sure to grab some window clings and this Bunny banner so that you can make this cheerful Easter DIY Rainbow Bunny sign too!
You must know by now that the Dollar Tree is one of my very favorite places to shop, especially for seasonal and Holiday decor supplies. The thing is, you HAVE to get there early to get the good stuff. And when you’re shopping, make sure to think outside the box on how things can be used, like the Window Clings I used here, totally not on a window!
I grabbed a few of these colorful rainbow Bunny garland banners because I knew they would be a hit. I mean, who wouldn’t grab these, they come with 8 Bunnies in a pack for ONE dollar! The Bunnies are strung on a piece of ribbon because they are meant to be an Easter banner, but they easily slide off to become mighty craft supplies on their own.
This DIY Dollar Tree Rainbow Bunny Sign was made Live over on Facebook and it was a blast to make! You can watch the replay of how I made this fun and colorful piece of Easter decor in the video below, or you can go HERE to watch the replay right on Facebook.
I haven’t even mentioned the fact that this DIY features one of my favorite things….Bunny BUTTS! Last year we made these adorable Bunny Butt Terra Cotta pots, and this sign is going to look adorbs next to it right along with the other Easter crafts we made last year. It was right before Easter when the pandemic hit last year, so we went allllllll out on the crafting to keep us busy!
If you’re more of a written instruction kind of gal, I’ve detailed the steps below. Get creative and most importantly HAVE FUN when making this DIY Dollar Tree Rainbow Bunny Sign!

Supplies Needed to Make a DIY Dollar Tree Rainbow Bunny Sign for Easter
- Dollar Tree Rainbow “Happy Easter” window clings – (Amazon has something similar if you can’t find at your local Dollar Tree)
- Dollar Tree Rainbow Bunny Banner
- White Chalk Paint
- Easter egg pics
- Variety of colored and Easter ribbon
- String or twine
- Mod Podge
How to Make a Rainbow Bunny Sign from a Dollar Tree Easter Banner
Follow the below written steps to turn a Dollar Tree Rainbow Bunny Banner into a fun and colorful Easter sign.
- Dry brush the back of the Dollar Tree Easter sign with white chalk paint, going for almost full coverage, but not 100%. I used the back of the sign below, but you could use anything long enough to fit all 5 bunnies.
2. Mod podge or glue the Rainbow “Happy Easter” window cling to a piece of cardstock or poster board, and then cut it out.
3. Glue 5 of the colored bunny’s to the white wooden sign, leaving just a bit of extra room around the middle bunny for the rainbow.
4. Glue the rainbow window cling around the top of the middle bunny.
5. Glue an Easter egg pick diagonally across the front of the middle Bunny. You may have to cut the wooden pick to make it shorter so that it fits on the sign.
6. Now, make 5 little bows and bowties to dress the bunny’s up and to up the cuteness factor!
To make my mini bows, I just chose various types of coordinated ribbon and cut strips about 2 inches long. I used 2-3 different colors/styles for each bow and bow tie. Dove tail the ends if you’d like, and then you simply layer the pieces on top of each other, and then tie a piece of string or twine around the center. And Voila! The picture below shows how to do this bow technique, just don’t mind that it’s from Christmas! Same concept LOL 🙂
