How to Make a Rainbow Bandana Flag
I made this cute DIY Rainbow Bandana Flag on video, so you can WATCH the step by step tutorial HERE or right below.
Watch the video tutorial here.
This is one easy as can be project that you could even get the kiddos to help out and craft! The best part is that it requires just a few things to make and I will walk you right on through it. Since this was a Facebook Live tutorial, there are no step by step photos, but you can watch the replay for any extra details you may need.
First things first, cut the thinner end (handle) off of your paint stick so that its just about 9″ long and paint the entire thing white.
Rip your Bandanas up into long strips, but cutting a small slit at about 2 inches wide, and then ripping the rest. I like for it to have the tattered look, but you could cut it all the way through if you prefer the clean look. I ripped 2 strips of each color, plus one strip each of black and white for the bandana. Don’t mind the orange one you see here, I messed it up and it’s a little but shorter than the rest…whoops!
Now just tie your strips to the paint stick stick in Rainbow color order…ROYGBIV.
Glue your galvanized metal heart to the front center. You could even use a metal or wooden word “Love” if you had that too.
Finish it off by tying the black and white strips together and then to each end of the paint stick to make the hanger.
How adorable is this easy to make Rainbow Flag made with good ole’ handkerchiefs? Or bandanas…..whatever you want to call them! This colorful craft idea is perfect for a kids playroom, in honor of Pride month, or even for teachers to decorate the classroom.
