Dollar Tree Calendars are not just for keeping track of the days, they’re for crafting up cute decor for your home! This “Farm Life” Cow Calendar print got a makeover with some sunflowers, and now its a super cute piece of easy and affordable DIY Dollar Tree decor.
I am not even a huge Cow fan, but when you pair it with Sunflowers like I did in my Kitchen, that changes everything!
This looks just presh on my front door, especially with my Welcome mat. This particular mat is no longer available *sigh*, but I did find a different one that is still super cute.
I know what you’re thinking…”But Manda, I couldn’t find the calendars so I can’t make this!” NOT TRUE! You can use ANY calendar print or any print at all for that matter.
Also, and this is NOT the ideal solution, but you can get this (and other DT) calendars on Amazon for a premium price of course. Just depends on how bad ya want it LOL!

How to Make a Dollar Tree Farm Life Cow Frame
I made this Dollar Tree Calendar Frame on video. So you can WATCH the tutorial by clicking below.
Ok first things first, I used an 11″ x 14″ canvas panel, so I had to cut down to size. I just used an X-acto knife and scored it, and then broke it off so that it was 11″ x 12″.
Then, Mod Podge the calendar print to the front of the canvas. The sides will hang off a but since the calendar is 12″, so you will need to trim off the 1/2″ extra on both sides.
Take 2 long strips of thin buffalo check ribbon, and glue them up the right and left hand sides of the print. This helps to make the edges look more finished.
Next, I painted 2 paint sticks all black (I used the ones without a handle) and then dry brushed white onto them.
Glue one along the top of the canvas and one along the bottom.
Now for the Half Wood Beads! You could easily paint them all white or yellow, but I decided to up the ante and decoupage a Sunflower napkin onto them. Just separate the plys of the napkin, cut it into squares large enough to cover the beads, and then Mod Podge them down and sand the excess off the edges. Don’t worry about wrinkles, they don’t have to be perfect!
You CAN paint the beads white first, but you don’t HAVE to. The white will help to make the colors of the napkin pop if you do. I was lazy and did not paint them first for this project (#sorrynotsorry).
Give the cow a cute little sunflower embellishment by gluing some boxwood greenery to her head next to her ear. Then glue a faux silk sunflower head to the center, and two smaller resin sunflower embellishments on each side.
To make the hanger, glue a piece of twine to the top, and then reinforce with a popsicle stick on each side.
Here she is! Let’s call her Sassy the Sunflower Cow! She will look so PERF in my Sunflower and Cow Print Kitchen!
