Make an easy, affordable, and adorable DIY Christmas decor wall hanging using all Dollar Tree supplies. These mini Gingerbread Men are stacked on top of each other to put the gold star on the Christmas Tree, and it could not be any cuter. Run Run as fast as you can, you can’t catch me I’m the Gingerbread Man!
This abso-stinking-lutely adorable craft was done during my part of the “Gingerbread Everything” crafting even over on Facebook as part of the “Fakers and Homeakers” group!
I don’t do a ton of crafting events, but when I do it’s a good one with tons of crafty inspo. This event was chuck full of adorable Gingerbread ideas from Fake Bakes, to Dollar Tree ideas, to traditional Christmas crafts. There was a little something for everyone.
I don’t do enough Gingerbread crafts, so I am happy I now have one to add to my blog. At least your search won’t come up empty when searching “Gingerbread”. Hopefully, it’s the first of many!
Now these mini wooden Gingerbread Men may be a bit hard to find at Dollar Tree because their craft supplies sell out so quickly! You may be able to pick them up at one of the other Big Box craft stores like Michaels or Hobby Lobby, and of course there is always good ‘ole Amazon.

How to Makeover a Dollar Tree Gingerbread Men DIY
I made this Dollar Tree Gingerbread craft on video, so you can WATCH it or click on the picture right below.
This is what the Gingies looked like before I painted them. You could definitely get ones that are already painted and decorated, making this project even easier than it already is!
First, go ahead and get your gingerbread men all painted brown. I used Antique wax and stained them and I think the color was just perfect.
I then outlined the edge with a brown paint pen and used a liner paint brush to draw the squiggles on the arms, legs, and head. I used a fine tip Sharpie to draw the eyes, mouth, and teeny heart “buttons”, and then filled the hearts in with red paint.
You can finish them off with a tiny little shoestring bakers twine bow on their necks for the guys and in their “hair” for the gals.
Paint your wooden background all white, and then glue your Gingies stacked on top of one another over to the right side of the background. Leave enough room over on the left to fit your Christmas Tree.
Next, cut pieces of faux wired pine and shape it into a wonky bent Christmas Tree.
I then glued the gold star to the Gingerbreads hand so that it’s not quite touching the tree and gives the appearance that the Gingie is about to stick the star on top.
You can decorate your Christmas Tree however you like, but I decided to keep it simple with some bakers twine as “garland”, some mini red bells, and I brushed on some faux snow to finish it off.
I added two Candy Canes with the tips facing each other to form a cute little heart down at the bottom of the tree.
Add some faux snow across the entire bottom of your Dollar Tree Gingerbread Men DIY and you’ve got yourself the cutest Christmas craft known to man!
