Don’t mind me in the video as I contemplate the pronunciation of Tulle. But really, is it ‘Tool’ or is it ‘Tull’? I think I’ve been saying it wrong my entire crafting life!

Supplies Needed to Make a Glitter Tulle Christmas Tree from Dollar Tree Supplies
Of course, all the materials used to complete this DIY came straight from good ‘ole DT. Unfortunately, they do not offer online orders of single items, so I’ve linked to the closest version of each item on Amazon for your convenience.
- 3 yard roll of Glitter Tulle – 2 of those (I used green and silver-Amazons rolls are 10 yards)
- Wooden dowels
- Rock base (you could also use natural wood circles)
- Glitter star embellishment
- Glue gun
How to make Dollar Tree Glitter Tulle Christmas Tree Decorations
Follow the below easy steps to make glitzy glam Tulle Christmas Trees!
Glue the wooden dowel to your rock base using a glue gun.
You could use a more permanent hold like E6000, but it will take much longer to dry and you would need to do this step 24 hours before moving to the next steps.
Cut the first roll of glitter tulle into 9-10 inch long strips. When you get towards the end of the roll, begin to cut the strips closer to 8-9 inches.
Tie a 10 inch strip of the tulle in a single knot around the wooden dowel.
Turn the the entire dowel and base about a quarter inch to the right, and tie another strip of tulle. Continue to turn, and tie. Turn, and tie so that the ends of the strips of tied tulle are spread out in a circular fashion.
Once the first roll of tulle strips are all tied around the dowel, you should be approximately halfway up the “tree trunk”. Don’t worry if it’s not perfect, you can scrunch the strips together or spread them out as needed once you are done tying the second roll.
Cut your second roll of glitter tulle into 7-8 inch strips, moving closer to 6-7 inches as you near the end of the roll. I don’t recommend going any shorter then 6 inches or it becomes very difficult to tie the strips around the dowel. We will trim up the longer strips at the top of the tree as needed once the entire glitter tulle tree is created.
Once the all of the glitter tulle strips have been tied to the wooden dowel, you should have made it to the top of the the “tree trunk”. Spread the tied strips out evenly and kind of fluff as you go so your tree looks nice and even and full. Take scissors and trim off any weird super long or wonky pieces. This is where you may want to trim up the top if those pieces are too long as well.
Now for the finishing touches! Glue the star embellishment to the top of the Glitter Tulle Christmas Tree.
