Nothing says “Hello Spring” like a good ‘ole spring truck DIY with a Dollar Tree Easter Egg! This easy and affordable craft has all the spring elements from the carrots, to the burlap, to the yellow plaid. You can practically feel that Spring is in the air!
This adorable DIY was made live over on my Facebook page just under a year ago, and yes, I am just now getting it up on the blog! Hey better late than never right?! I made it right after this Rainbow Bunny Easter sign, and that one made it to the blog right away, while this cutie got left behind.
In fact, I am so so late that I don’t even have this Dollar Tree Hello Spring Truck in my house anymore. It is happily resting in it’s new owners home, as it was part of the Crafty auction I held back at Christmas time to raise money for Toys for Joy!
But in case you want to try and make something like this for Easter ort Spring this year, I figured why not get it on here, especially because I made the whole thing on video, so you can see exactly how I did it! If you can’t find the exact same supplies I used, no worries…improvise improvise improvise!

How to Make a Dollar Tree Hello Spring Truck
I made this adorable Hello Spring Truck on video, so you can WATCH the step by step tutorial HERE.
I don’t have complete step by step photos since this Dollar Tree Hello Spring Truck was made live over on my Facebook page, but I’ll walk you through to give you the gist.
First, I’ll walk you through a few of the supplies I decided to use. The yellow, pink, and teal plaid tissue paper was from good ‘ole Walmart in the Easter section, and the little “Hello Spring” truck with carrots in the bed and “Hello Spring” cutout are from Hobby Lobby on clearance for like pennies on the dollar. Always make sure to wait for Hobby Lobby to go on clearance!
So first things first, paint the entire wooden egg all white so that the tissue paper color shows up better, and then Mod Podge the tissue paper onto the whole entire thing.
Cut a strip of burlap to glue across the top, with the “Hello Spring” on top of that, and glue the little truck underneath that, using little wooden craft cubes to raise it up off of the surface.
Glue some thicker jute twine alllll along the edge of the egg shape to give it a more finished look. And lastly braid together some spring fabric and make a loop to use as the hanger for the top. Add a mini raffia bow and Voila! Your Dollar Tree Hello Spring Truck is complete!
