A Dollar Tree pizza pan isn’t just for cooking. It makes the perfect surface for DIY Christmas Decor like this Dollar Tree Merry and Bright Pizza Pan! This door hanger will have your neighbors Fa La La La La’ing all the way through New Years!
Welcome to Day 12 of our Manda Panda Countdown to Craftmas! This is the first year that I am starting a tradition of 24 days of Crafty Christmas lives over on my Facebook Page. Make sure to check out the Scrapbook Paper Christmas Tree we made for Day 21!
Pizza Pans are not just for cooking pizza, they’re for crafting and decorating too! This Dollar Tree Christmas Pizza Pan decor will have you looking through your kitchen cabinets for a spare pizza pan to sacrifice to the crafting gods LOL!
Now I must admit, the combination of the red check background with the black and white buffalo check word may have not been the absolute best color and pattern combo, but I swear the words say “Merry and Bright”
If I were to make this Dollar Tree Christmas Pizza Pan again, I would most definitely paint the words solid black.
I added some lace behind the words to try and break up the visual of the two patterns together, and it definitely did help some, but a solid color would have been ideal.
But hey, I made the mistake FOR you so now you don’t have to! It wasn’t so bad that I scrapped the whole project and started over and I think in the end it turned out super pretty….clashing patterns and all!

How to Make a Merry and Bright Door Hanger with a Dollar Tree Pizza Pan
I made this Dollar Tree Christmas Pizza Pan on video, so you can WATCH it or click on the picture right below.
Start off by painting the entire pizza pan all white. I would use chalk paint to make sure that it sticks to the aluminum metal pan. You can also give the surface a quick sand to help the paint adhere as well.
Next, Mod Podge the red and white check napkin to the entire surface of the pizza pan, and then sand off any excess napkin.
Then glue a layer of lace over the center, right under where the wording will go. You can skip this step if you decide to paint your word cutout instead of using the buffalo check napkin.
For the Merry and Bright cutout, I painted it all white first, and then Mod Podged the buffalo check napkin on top.
Now you COULD sand off the excess napkin, but that would take forever so I recommend the burn method to get rid of the excess. Just light the napkin hangover on fire and watch it burn all the way around like magic! I have never had any problems or incidents doing this, but make sure to have a cup of water handy just in case!
Glue your Merry and Bright front and center on the Pizza Pan, using small squares of cardboard or foam board underneath to raise it up of of the surface and give it some dimension. You could use small craft cubes if you have those as well.
Of course I added a small Messy bow!
To make this one, just layer several strips of matching ribbon on top of each other in an X formation. You can dovetail the ends either before or after layering the strips. Then pinch the middle and tie a piece of string around it. Finish it off with a gorgeous piece of Totally Dazzled bling.
I didn’t even bother to paint the back because as I say, there are no “back of the craft police”, but you could definitely paint it if you like, and you can even add a piece of twine across the back as a hanger. I would use something like E6000 permanent glue to ensure that it holds.
Ain’t she a beauty!? Despite the small color and pattern clash of the background with the Merry and Bright, I think she turned out absolutely GORG! (Short for Gawgeous. Slang for Gorgeous)
