Dollar Tree foam pumpkins are one of the most popular fall crafting decor out there, and I’ve seen them made over a thousand different ways. But this is the first I’ve seen one like this!! This Sunflower and Fall colored fabric makes for an adorable Dollar Tree Foam Patchwork Pumpkin. It’s sure to be the cutest in the patch!
If you see these foam pumpkins at your Dollar Tree make sure to grab a few of them because the the Craftabilities are endless! I picked up quite a few last year, but I used them all up making a Pumpkin Topiary and Fabric Covered Pumpkins, so I am on the hunt for more this year. Thanks to one of my very favorite Facebook friends, Angel, who sent me this one to make this Patchwork Pumpkin!
When others ask me where I get my inspiration and ideas from, my answer is always the same…..everywhere! And that truly is the case as I got the inspiration for this Dollar Tree Foam Patchwork Pumpkin when I was getting dressed this morning. Let me explain.
I threw on an old dress that I hadn’t worn in years, it’s this super cute Prairie style patchwork dress. I immediately thought of the Sunflower, Pumpkin, and Fall vibes fabric that I had leftover from last year and thought it would make for an adorable patchwork project. The Dollar Tree Foam Pumpkin just happened to be my crafty victim.
Can I just tell you how much I am obsessed with Sunflowers?! I have OSD…..Obsessive Sunflower Disorder. I enjoy them year round, don’t get me wrong, but I reallllllyy super enjoy them for fall decor. If there is any way at all to work a Sunflower into one of my crafts, then trust me I’m gonna do it. #SunflowerLover
If you are not as OSD as me, or even if you just have an entirely different color scheme or vibe going on with your Fall decor, than make this Dollar Tree Patchwork Pumpkin to match. You could go neutral with burlap and crème, or black, white, and grey . You could go the way that the rest of my decor is with Teals and Oranges. You do you Boo.
So get in the car, run to your nearest Dollar Tree, and make yourself this Patchwork Foam Pumpkin.

How to Make a Dollar Tree Patchwork Foam Pumpkin

This Dollar Tree Patchwork Pumpkin is so easy to make, that even the kiddos could do it. In fact, I think they’d love to help make this so grab them their own Pumpkin to Patchwork themselves too!
First thing we’re gonna do is cut our fabric up into little squares. Mine were about 1-2 inch square-ish rectangles and they weren’t even all the exact same size so just get them cut up the best you can.
Next, let’s take the stem off of the pumpkin because we’re not gonna need that. Take your Mod Podge and a paint brush, and paint it onto your foam pumpkin in little sections at a time. Stick your fabric squares on there, and paint the Mod Podge right over the top as you go to seal the edges down.
Just keep on doing that until your entire pumpkin is all patchworked up! I didn’t do the bottom since you won’t see that anyway. You can apply another layer of Mod Podge over top of the whole thing once you’re done but it’s not necessary since you probably used quite a bit throughout the process already. Just make sure there is no little corners coming up.
Now glue your cork or whatever you are using as a stem to the top, along with the Sunflower and greenery. You can leave this part off if you want a more simple pumpkin.
That’s it! You’ve got yourself an a-d-o-r-a-b-l-e little Dollar Tree Patchwork Foam Pumpkin to add to your DIY Fall decor this year!
