There’s nothing I love more than taking an ordinary household item and turning it into something fun that you can decorate your house with! What makes it even better is when it’s from Dollar Tree! This “Bloom Where you are Planted” Pot Holder makes for a super cute Doorknob Hanger and you can whip this up in about 15 minutes or less!
Of course I got this pot holder at Dollar Tree, and it came with TWO pot holders so you can get two doorknob hangers out of it for only $1! They do have this same Pot Holders on Amazon, but of course they’re 10x the price (although it does come with a complete set with oven mitts).
But remember, you can take this idea and make a Doorknob Hanger with any Dollar Tree pot holder that you can find! I’ve noticed that they tend to come out with cute new ones at the beginning of each season, and they put them on the end cap by the Kitchen supplies section, so be on the lookout.
This Dollar Tree DIY is the perfect kick off to Spring crafting and looks adorbs next to the Scrap Fabric Flower we made using supplies from leftover projects. Crafting with household items (helllllooooo pot holder) and scrap supplies are my 2 favorite things right beside crafting with recyclables!

How to turn a Dollar Tree Pot Holder into a Spring Doorknob Hanger
I created this Dollar Tree Pot Holder DIY on video, so you can watch the full tutorial HERE, or from the video below!
Hot To Make a Doorknob Hanger from a Dollar Tree Pot Holder
- Cut a small slit in first layer of fabric on the top of the pot holder.
The pot holder has 2 layers of fabric, the front with the image, and the solid color back. You want the slit to be in only one layer, so you can separate the 2 layers and stuff the pot holder.
- Stuff the pot holder with poly fill or buffalo snow, and hot glue the opening shut.
Don’t worry about the hot glue or how it looks, we’re going to cover it up with the raffia bow.
- Hot glue the pastel berry garland around the edge of the pot holder.
This step is of course optional, but I think it gives it an extra touch with the detail it adds.
- Make a small raffia bow and glue it to the top over the opening.
This bow is super simple, just take some raffia and fold it and pinch in the middle. Tie a piece of raffia around the center to hold it together.
- Glue the paper flowers and leaves to the center of the bow.
- Make a wood bead hanger and glue to the back of the stuffed pot holder.
Just string wood beads onto a piece of twine, and tie a knot at each end to secure.
And just like that, you’ve got yourself a cute little Dollar Tree Doorknob Hanger for a couple a bucks and less than 20 minutes!.
