Make sure you are saving all of those empty egg cartons, this American Flag recycled craft is just one of the many crafts kids to do with them! This super fun and easy Egg Carton Craft is a perfectly fun and easy craft for the kiddos to celebrate the Fourth of July. Best of all, you just need red, white, and blue paint and an egg carton to make it!
I hate to admit we are a little late to the July 4th crafting this year. I managed to make a couple of Patriotic Clothespin Wreaths for friends and these Patriotic Mason Jars, but nothing near the red, white, and blue fiasco we had last year.
This year is looking a little different than past years, I am not sure they are even having a fireworks display here in San Diego. We shouldn’t let that stop us from creating *all the things* to celebrate our nations birthday though!
Speaking of birthdays, my Twins birthday is next month, so this is always a super busy time of year for us. My focus had been on planning their 9th Sonic the Hedgehog party (pics and post to come), but we did manage to make these simple Egg Carton American Flags along with some Popsicle Stick Flags to celebrate the Fourth of July.
Our recycled flag craft allows kids to create with minimal supervision, and you need only paint and an empty egg carton to make it happen. If you put down an old towel as I did, than it’s relatively mess free as well (score)! This red white and blue egg carton American Flag isn’t just a good 4th of July craft, it can be made to celebrate Memorial day or Flag Day too!

How to Make an Egg Carton American Flag
Follow the below super simple steps to make a Patriotic Egg Carton Craft
Paint the 4 egg cups in the top left corner blue
Paint the top egg carton row, and then every other one red
Paint the other alternating rows white
Either Paint white stars or cut out little white stars from paper and glue to the blue egg cups
You can glue some string to the top to hang on the wall, or display in a window to celebrate July 4th, or even Memorial or Flag Day! Or you can just set your Egg Carton American Flag on top of a book case to show your USA pride. Either way, the kiddos will just love turning this trash into craft!
