Don’t get discouraged if you don’t have a mantel to style and decorate for each of the Holidays and seasons, there are other ways to get the same festive vibe! Here is my Neutral Fall-O-Ween bookcase for inspo on how you can decorate a mantel without a mantel!
The age old struggle of what to decorate for….Fall Or Halloween? Now some people do both, but that is just TOO much for me.
Put up your Fall decor on 9/1, take it down on 10/1 and decorate for Halloween, then take Halloween down and go back to Fall/Thanksgiving on 11/1, then decorate for Christmas after Thanksgiving.
ORRR you can just skip Halloween altogether and JUST decorate for Fall if thats what you love. And visa versa, just decorate for Halloween if thats what you love.
Well, what if you really want to decorate for both, but don’t want to do all that “work”? I have one word for you (or is it 2 words? LOL)……..
Fall-O-Ween!
Even if you don’t have a fireplace and mantel, you can still have just as much fun decorating a bookcase. I’ll show you how I styled mine with a neutral vibe and of course accents of leopard print!

How to Style a Fall-O-Ween Bookcase with Neutral DIY Decor
When I decorate for all the seasons and reasons, I try to incorporate as much of my “normal” everyday decor in as I can. And for this particular Fall, my normal decor works great since I am going for a neutral, gold, vintage sunflower, with accents of leopard print vibe.
The Sunflower globe, Gold Heart shaped glasses, Book Box, and Vintage Lamp are all everyday staples of this bookcase, so those stayed right in place (or almost in place at least).
Also, everything in the cubbies of the Fall-O-Ween bookcase stayed the same as well, although did take some things OFF to make room for the fall and Halloween decor I’ve been making.
The Fall Swag Banner was something we made for our Fall Craft Challenge this year. If you have never done a Craft Completion Challenge you are MISSING out! Make sure you’re following my Facebook page so you know when we do the next one for Christmas.
This Sunflower globe is quite possibly my most EPIC upcycle ever and I don’t think I will ever take this down or get rid of it! I am going to have to figure out what to do with it for Christmas though, because I’m not sure even I can swing a Sunflower Christmas LOL.
Adding the the “Ween” part of the bookcase is the cute slash creepy Primitive Ghost we made last year. I think hes more cute then he is creepy tho!
Both of these adorable pumpkins put the “Fall” in Fall-O-Ween because what would Fall decor be without pumpkins!? Neutral pumpkins of course!
We have a Book Page pumpkin made with leftover book pages from the Vintage Book Page wreath we made in The CRafterparty, and we have a Leopard Print Scrap wood pumpkin, my personal FAVE pumpkin I have made…ever.
Off to the right we have the cutest little Mummy Girl you ever did see, and she looks even cuter next to the Thrift Store Floral Watering Can. This floral arrangement is where my entire Neutral Fall obsession came from this year.
It was the first thing I made, and the color scheme got me hooked. And thus, the Neutral Fall-O-Ween bookcase was born.
The gumball machine is another thing that has been around for while and is changed up for all the seasons. Last year I did the Sunflowers, but this year I added the Leopard Print pumpkins too. obSESSed.
The floor area was feeling empty, so instead of putting this “Porch Leaner” outside, I leaned it against this Sunflower vase. To tell you the truth, its a bit small for outside anyway, so it totally works here.
I made this Tattered Ghost in The CRafterparty after I took the first pic of the gumball machine, and thought this was the perfect spot to fill in!
Not technically part of the bookcase but definitely adds to the vibe in this whole area is this Pumpkin Queen sign (also made in The CRafterparty). Some may say this is a weird place to hang it, and it is, but I think it works!
Loving the feel of this Fall-O-Ween bookcase all decorated for the season! AND the best part is I don’t have to change ANYTHING until I decorate for Christmas in the first week of November!
You can’t get the full effect from a picture, but my FAVE part is the cozy vibe it gives at night with the fairy lights!
