Beach and pool weather vibes are in full swing with this Summer Tiered Tray. Get your bikinis out and get ready to have some Fun in the Sun as we craft and decorate everything you see here on this adorable, handmade, wood bead tiered tray. This mini decor will make you wish summer lasted all year long!
This is just one of my TWO tiered trays that I decorate and craft for regularly. I call this my “Small Tray”, and we made it in The CRafterparty last year.
It’s much much smaller than my Rustic 3 Tiered Wood Tray, but they are just so different you really can’t compare the two.
I’ve done a few other blog posts of my “big tray”, like my Sunflower inspo, Valentines, Inspo, and Fall inspo ones, but this is the very first time I am showing my small tray all decorated for any season or Holiday.
We had a 2 week long craftstravaganza live on my Facebook page where I came on every single day and did a #Lunchtimelive to make each piece for this tray. We called it the FUN IN THE SUN series.
So let me show you how I decorated this Fun in the Sun Summer Tiered Tray!

Fun in the Sun Summer Themed Tiered Tray
ALL of the little pieces that you see on this tray are handmade, including the Tiered Tray itself. I’ve linked below to the Video, and/or the blog post tutorial where we made each one so that you can easily find them if you want to make them yourself! I hope you find lots of Summer Tiered Tray Inspo here and I can’t wait to see how your Summer Tiered Tray turns out.

Handmade Crafts for a Summer Tiered Tray
I decorated this adorable Fun in the Sun Summer Tiered Tray on a Facebook Live video, so you can WATCH me decorate it HERE or click on the picture right below.
I have no rhyme or reason to how I decorated my Summer Tiered Tray. I know there are some decorating “rules” you are supposed to follow, but honestly I’ve never been one to follow those rules! I’m a #CraftyRebel.
First things first, you need to start with clean slate and take EVERYTHING off of your tray. Then I get out everything that I plan to use, so that I have it all right there in front of me.
Then, I just start putting things on and moving them around until I like how it looks. It takes a bit of tweaking and tinkering until you get it just right, but in the end you are left with something uh-maz-ing.
One trick I have is to use little round wood discs to use as risers to create some height on things in the back. It makes a world of difference. Since this is my smaller of my two tiered trays, this one doesn’t really need the risers as often, but it’s a good option to have when you need to add some height.
Let’s start from the Top!
I had to start by putting the Popsicle Stick Sun on the top, because it wouldn’t fit on the bottom, but I think it looks just adorable next to the Styrofoam Beach Ball, and the Flamingo Pool Floatie with (hot glue) pool.
Hanging across the top tier is the adorable Popsicle Banner made with paint samples. I just love a mini tiered tray banner! It really adds some charm!
In the back is a mini block made with DT Jenga Blocks. Simple and perfect top tier!
Moving down to the bottom, front and center we have the Mini Jenga Block Summer Bookstack.
I didn’t get the best overall pics of the bottom tier, but you can get a good idea how it looks from all the individual pics.
Surrounding the mini bookstack is the Beach Fence, Flip Flops, and the “Enjoy Summer” DT block.
How cute are these little flip flops? Would you ever know they are made from cardboard!?
Here is one of the two mini fences, so darn cute they BOTH are.
In the back on the right behind the book stack is this Popsicle Stick Beach Chair with Beach Umbrella. Complete with a Mini Fabric Towel.
In the back, opposite side of the Beach Chair is the Watermelon Sitter. Since you can’t see it very much from my Tiered Tray Pics, here is a picture of it off of the tray.
It’s really hard to see anything that I put in the back of this tray, since the 2 tiers are pretty close together.
A Fun in the Sun Summer Tiered Tray wouldn’t be complete without a couple of Surfboards. Again, made with cardboard!
And here she is my friends! The 100% handmade Fun in the Sun Summer Tiered Tray!
