Turn your trash into crafty fall treasure with these easy to make Tin Can Pumpkins! This recycled DIY is affordable and makes the perfect addition to your DIY Fall Decor.
Over on the good ‘ole F-B (that means Facebook LOL), I do a LOT of series. This one was a “recycled pumpkin” week where each day, I made a pumpkin out of something that can be recycled and found right at home!
I mean c’mon, these were just about FREE to make minus the cost of the paint and embellishments which I already had in my stash.
We did a Toilet Paper Roll Scrapbook Paper Pumpkin first, and now these Tin Can Pumpkins which I love equally as much!
So save those soup and vegetable cans, because you’re gonna want to make these recycled pumpkins this fall for sure.

How to Make Tin Can Pumpkins
I made these Tin Can Pumpkins on video. So you can WATCH the tutorial by clicking below.
This one is super easy, I bet you don’t even need a tutorial, but I will walk you through the steps.
First strip the paper off the cans, and then paint them all orange. Chalk paint works best with this since acrylic doesn’t stick quite as well to metal.
Then I used a spouncer to make the white polka dots on the one can.
Next, hot glue a stick from the yard to the top of the can as the “stem”. Don’t worry about the glue showing, we’re gonna cover it up with some spanish moss.
Once you’ve got your moss glued on, you can add whatever embellishments that you want.
I added a leopard print fall leaf to the polka dot pumpkin (I got those leaves at Hobby Lobby in 2022).
Then I added a simple raffia bow and a sunflower to the other tin can pumpkin.
Here they are all done on my little riser with the Spooky Prim Ghost! So darn cute!
