How to Make a Toilet Paper Roll Rainbow Craft
Follow these simple steps to get your paper tube rainbow hanging in your window right now!
Use a pen to draw diagonal lines on the toilet paper roll
The lines help to make sure you have enough room to fit all the colors, and it also gives kids a guide to follow. Don’t worry about them being perfect, as you can see mine aren’t.
Paint each diagonal stripe a color of the rainbow
You can start with red and follow with orange, yellow, green, blue, purple. Or you can mix it up and do it out of order. Just make sure you don’t miss a color!
Cut 6 strips of ribbon, each one about an inch shorter than the one before it
The first strip we cut was about 9 inches. Then 8, 7, 6 and so forth.
Glue the ribbon to the inside of the toilet paper roll rainbow
Make sure to keep them in size order if you want to have the spiral cloud look.
Glue a cotton ball to the end of each ribbon
If you are not using hot glue, allow the glue to fully dry before picking the toilet paper tube rainbow up and allowing the cotton ball clouds to hang freely.
Cut a strip of ribbon to use as the toilet tube hanger
Glue the strip to the inside of the top of the toilet paper tube.
Hang your Toilet Paper Roll Rainbow Windsock for all to see!
