Vintage Burlap, and Lace, and Pearls….Oh MY! This Valentine Heart DIY Door Hanger craft is the perfect combination of sassy and sweet. Made with a gorgeous crafty printable, you just can’t go wrong for your Valentine’s decor this year!
Most of my Valentines crafts this year have been a totally new color combo. And that combo is Pink, Gold, and Leopard paired with black and white stripes like you see in the Layered Leopard frame that I made! I know I know, that’s not what you see here at all, and you can thank Cathy from Digital Deco Designs for that!
The print that I used in this project is called Glamentine, and I think I like the name just as much as the print itself! This one was printed and shipped to me, but you can get a digital subscription to download and print at home too. The super uh-maz-ing thing about her prints are that they are done on RICE PAPER! Say Whhaaaaaaaat!?
I actually used the majority of this paper for another small project for my Valentine’s Tiered Tray, but thought this one was perfect to use the leftover paper so it didn’t go to waste! And of course if you can’t or don’t want to use the printable, scrapbook paper works amazing for this project too! You can see the original project next to this one in the pic below.
If you love this Vintage and grungy look for Valentine’s, you’ll probably love the Vintage Pallet Board I made with a different print too!

How to Make Vintage Valentine Hearts
I made these gorgeous Vintage Valentine Hearts on video, so you can WATCH the step by step tutorial on HERE.
Let me walk you through the elements of this amazingly gorgeous Vintage Valentine Heart DIY! First things first, we painted the rectangular surface white and did a fake chippy/crackle. It was supposed to be crackle but it was a failed attempt due to not using enough glue, so we ran with it and did it chippy instead and I think it turned out great. You have to watch the replay to see exactly how we pivoted!
The first heart we made with burlap covered with a layer of romantic lace, and then outlined the edge with twine.
Next we used that gorgeous Glamentine print and decoupaged that onto the second vintage valentine heart.
For the third heart we antique waxed the heart first, and then covered it with a layer of pearl adhesive, and again outlined with twine.
We attached some pretty pink glittery bells with ribbon that I pulled off of a Dollar Tree Door Hanger to the bottom of the Vintage hearts.
And we topped it off with a pearl bead hanger!
I’m totally obsessed with how gorgeous these Vintage burlap, lace, and pearl Valentine’s hearts turned out.
