This one is vintage and grungy with its burlap and lace, and its’ more than just DIY Valentine’s decor. This Vintage Heart Pallet Board is so versatile and pretty, it can totally be used in your year round decor! All you need is the Gorgeous crafty printable to make this one for yourself.
Every since I discovered printable from Digital Deco Designs I have been literally obsessed. I’m telling ya, go check them out for yourself and I dare you to not get addicted!
The “Remember When” Vintage Heart printable that I am using in this project was printed and shipped to me, but you can get a digital subscription to download and print at home too. The super uh-maz-ing thing about her prints are that they are done on RICE PAPER! Say Whhaaaaaaaat!? Both of the DIY’s in this pic are made with her rice paper printables. In.Love.
If you have not Mod Podged something with rice paper, you are not living your best Crafty Life my friend. Jus’ Sayin’. And the best thing about this particular print is that although it can most certainly be used in Valentine’s decor, it totally doesn’t have to be! You can def get away with keeping this out alllll year round.
The last project I did was a Pink Buffalo Check Heart, which SCREAMED V-Day, so I was in the mood to do something a little bit more versatile. As per usual, Digital Deco Designs saved the day.

How to Make a Pallet Board Decor with a Vintage Heart Printable
I made this gorgeous Vintage Heart Pallet Decor on video, so you can WATCH the step by step tutorial on YouTube HERE or by clicking the below pic.
This Vintage Heart Pallet Board is SO so so so easy to make I’ll walk you right on through it! First things first, you’ll paint the entire thing white. You want to do this so that the print shows up nice and bold on the wood.
Next trace your Pallet board shape onto the back of the printable and cut it out. I just drew 2 lines on the back where the pallet board slats are (in between the wood), so that I could cut the shape into 3 pieces. It doesn’t have to be exact since we will sand off the excess next.
Now Mod Podge each of the 3 sections of the Vintage Heart printable to pallet board frame. Use a sanding sponge to sand off any of the excess rice paper. A little hack is to use an emery board to get in between the slats. A nail file is basically a mini little sanding sponge anyway!
Last thing to do is hot glue the jute rope all the way around the pallet board frame. Cut the ends of the rope on a diagonal, so that when the 2 ends meet they will go together seamlessly.
