There is more to wood beads than just making garlands! Mix it up with these adorable Sunflower and Bee themed Wood Bead Flowers for a crafty fun and affordable way to decorate your summer tiered tray!
I started out on a mission a few weeks ago. That mission was to handmake everything for a gorgeous Sunflower and Bumblebee styled tiered tray, and that mission has been completed and these adorable Wood Bead Flowers came out of it!
If you follow along on Facebook, than you may have seen the bajillion crafts we did for our Sunflower tiered tray series! Seriously, it was a blast. I think it was about a month straight of Sunflower (and Bee) crafts that we made to go on this beautiful tiered tray! You can click the pic below to take you to the post with alllll of the deets of everything else we made for it!
You could make these same Wood Bead Flowers in any possible theme that you can think of! Think patriotic, fall, heck even Christmas wood bead flowers would be amazing!
These wood bead flowers were a total hit and I can see why! Many people asked me if I hand painted the wood beads and although I wish I was that talented….I am not LOL! I definitely got them painted like that on good ‘ole Amazon, I used two different sets and combined them. Both the Sunflower set and the Bee set, and they go together beautifully!
I need to think up some more projects I can do with these wood beads.

How to Make Flowers with Sunflower and Bee Wood Beads
I made these adorable Wood Bead Flowers on video, so you can WATCH me decorate it HERE or click on the picture right below.
I decided to make 3 flowers, all different yet coordinating. I made two different version, one with 5 beads and one with 6. You’ll have to decided for yourself which one you like better! The one with 6 has more space in the middle so the center bead fits right in.
To make the flowers just string the beads onto a piece of twine, and then tie them into a circle nice and tight. Then use hot glue to attach a bead right in the center.
Then glue a skewer to the back. For the 5 bead flowers I glued another bead to the center back, so that I could stick the the skewer into the hole of the back wood bead and secure it that way.
For the pot, I painted all white with a couple coats of chalk paint, and then cut a small piece of Bee napkin and Mod Podged it right to the front.
Stuff the pot with Spanish moss, and if you have some floral foam to put in first that’s even better. I didn’t happen to have any at the time so I just packed it super tight with the moss so that when I stuck the skewers in, it would hold the flowers up.
I then glued a bit of faux greenery to the bottom of the skewer stems.
I think they turned out fabulous!
The are the perfect compliment to the top tier of my Sunflower Tiered Tray! Make sure to check out all the other amazing little projects we made for it HERE.
