Black and White Striped Lemon Tiered Tray Decor

Lemon crafts and decor are all the rage this summer and can ya really blame everyone!? They are so bright and cheerful and Oh So Cute! This wooden lemon block with the black and white striped background really makes that yellow POP and is the perfect piece for your Lemon or Summer themed tiered tray! Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy!

Rather than a step-by-step tutorial with exact supplies, this project is more of an inspiration for you! Many of the supplies I used to create this black and white striped Lemon piece were things that I had in my craft stash, so you may not be able to find the exact items. Get creative and make it your own, and remember, you can find a substitute for just about any item!

The black and white striped background for this lemon tiered tray decor is a perfect example of making substitutions. Would you ever believe that it’s just copy paper with a “black and white stripe” Google image printed onto it? I had some fabric on hand, but it was buffalo check and I really wanted black and white striped. So instead of settling, I just printed it out on good ‘ole copy paper and it totally did the trick!

This adorable little lemon tiered tray decor was part of a 5 day Lunchtime Live Lemon challenge, or as one of my awesome followers called it, The Lemon-Athon! Each project was done live over on Facebook on my lunch break in under 30 minutes, and was super quick, easy, fun and CUTE! So at the end of the week we had 5 adorable Lemon crafts, all of which you could use to decorate your tiered tray this summer.

Supplies needed to make a Black and White Striped Lemon Decor Block

Most everything I used for this Lemon Tiered Tray Block came from my craft stash, which in turn came from Dollar Tree. I have linked the closest version of the items below on Amazon for your convenience, but they may not be exactly what I used.

Dollar Tree Small Wooden Block– Mine was 5″x 5″
Wooden blank square that is just slightly smaller than you your block
Wooden Lemon cutout – Mine was from Hobby Lobby
Black and white striped fabric or scrapbook paper (if you don’t have it, print out the stripes on copy paper like I did!)
Burlap
Mod Podge
Flat round pop up stickers

How to Make a Black and White Striped Lemon Perfect for a Tiered Tray

I made this Dollar Tree little block into a cute Lemon Tiered Tray piece on video, so you can WATCH the step by step tutorial HERE or right below.

Use this post as inspiration to craft something from your craft stash! Preferably something lemony! I’ll do my best to walk you through how I made this adorable little lemon tiered tray sitter, but remember, yours doesn’t have to look exactly the same as mine. Get creative, and most importantly, have fun!

The first thing you’ll do is cut a piece of burlap the same size as your wooden black, and Mod Podge that baby onto the front of it. As you can see here the burlap will just barely peek out from behind the black and white stripes.

Mod Podge again! But this time you’ll Mod Podge your black and white striped paper or fabric to the front of the flat wooden square that is slightly smaller than the size of your box. Remember, if you don’t have the scrapbook paper, you can Google “Black and white stripes” and print an image onto copy paper. That’s what I did here!

Glue on your wooden lemon cut out and your almost done.

The yellow corner dots are totally optional, but I think they really help to finish it off. Just take some small round stickers and paint them yellow, then glue the to all 4 corners. I use these Dollar Tree stickers for everything, if you see them on your next visit, make sure to grab some!
