Have you ever saw something in a store and thought to yourself, “I can make that for way cheaper?!” Well that’s exactly what happened with this Christmas Wreath Window decor that I saw at Big Lots. SO of course, I decided to make myself a copycat! And if you ask me, I think mine turned out even cuter.
I was casually strolling the aisles of Big Lots when I saw it. The beautiful Christmas Wreath Window Decor and I just absolutely loved it. The $20 price tag? Not so much!
Being the crafter that I am, of course my first thought was that I could make that! What I didn’t realize is that I was able to make it for nearly FREE, since I had everything needed to make it right at home! Well, maybe not free but I think I calculate it at just under $2, so it may as well be free! I’ll show you exactly how I pulled this off and can hopefully inspire you to make one of your own.
And even if you don’t make this exact same Christmas Wreath Window Frame, I hope his shows you what is possible with a little bit of creativity! Be inspired to raid your craft stash and see just what you might be able to come up with. You may surprise your crafty self!
Doesn’t this frame look just adorable next to the Snowman Wood Bead Garland that we made in The CRafterparty, my private VIP Crafting Group!?

How to Make a Big Lots Christmas Wreath Window Frame Copycat
I made this gorgeous Christmas Window Frame Decor on video, so you can WATCH the step by step tutorial HERE or click on the picture right below.
Since this Big Lots Christmas Window Copycat was made live on my Facebook page, I don’t have step by step photos showing you exactly how to make this, so I encourage you to watch the REPLAY.
You can use any frame that you like for this project, but I just happened to use a .50 cent frame that I got at the thrift store! Go ahead and paint your frame white, making sure that you are using chalk paint so that it adheres to the frame depending on the material. Mine was like a plastic material so it didn’t want to stick too well. In retrospect, I would have used a primer first.
Next, paint 2 wooden dowels white, and glue them crisscross to the back of the frame to make the “Window”.
Now take a piece of the faux pine garland and form it into the shape of the wreath. There is wire inside of this garland so I just twisted the ends together to get it to stay in the wreath shape. Wrap some red berry garland around it, add a small red bow to the top, and glue it to the top center of the window frame.
The “Joy” ornament came right from Dollar Tree just as you see it here, with the twine attached and everything. All I did is snip the twine hanger to open it up so that I could glue each end to the sides of the window frame.
Can you believe that’s all it took to make this gorgeous Christmas Wreath Window? I think my copycat version is even better then the real thing at Big Lots, what do you think?
